Cathy Allen is an accomplished leader, consultant, administrator and collaborative researcher. Her major strengths are in higher education, project management, program development and review, policy analysis, institutional research, quantitative and qualitative research methodology, survey development and writing.
Curriculum/Program Evaluation Expertise
She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum/Program Evaluation and an M.Ed. (Measurement and Evaluation) from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. In addition, Cathy holds a B.Ed. and B.A. (English Literature) from the University of Ottawa and certification in Special Education. Cathy is a certified SuccessFinder practitioner.
Cathy acted as a consultant in the creation of program and bridging proposals for The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University. She served as the Senior Academic Planning Coordinator at York University where she planned and developed new undergraduate and graduate programs.
Cathy has facilitated the Ontario Council on Graduate Studies reviews of new graduate programs and the periodic review of graduate programs at both the University of Toronto and York University. She has conducted extensive research on academic programming.
She advised faculty in the creation of the Bachelor of Disaster and Emergency Management in Disaster Management at York University and the Master of Teaching at the University of Toronto.
Cathy has extensive experience in the design and execution of surveys. She has designed, implemented and analyzed surveys of up to 4000 graduates.
